.. Bail set, players to fly home (12/03/03)

Bail was set for the players last night and the players will be allowed to fly home today despite being charged.

Paul Dickov is accused of raping a 36-year-old Malawi-born woman. He was granted bail at 120,000 euros (£82,000).

Keith Gillespie is accused of pinning her hands against a wall and beating her during the alleged attack.

Frank Sinclair is alleged to have tried to sexually assault another woman. Bail for the two men was set at 60,000 euros (£41,000).

Leicester City was also ordered to pay 48,000 euros (£32.700) for what is described as “civil responsibilities” in Spanish law.

The judge will continue to investigate the charges and could call the players back for trial if he decides there is a case.

One of the papers revealed yesterday that the women now also intend to try and sue the hotel for not keeping them safe.
