About FFS

.. The fans say...(04/03/03)

You've seen what FFS has to say, what about the other fans? First reactions can often be pretty emotional. Here's the first mail we had about it...

If these players are guilty as charged, they have to be shown the door instantly. I'd rather support a bunch of youth players in Div 3 then show any allegiance to players who have yet again dragged the good name of Leicester into the gutter, and made the club a laughing stock around the world. These players have to realise that, whilst they are here today and gone tomorrow, we the supporters are Leicester fans forever. How can I expect my son to support such a bunch of crass idiots? Twas only last saturday we were on our feet at Walkers, enjoying for the first time seeing the lads in the new stadium. Right now, I'm not bothered if I ever see them again. I know we dont condone booing our players, but if the charges are proven, and any of these clowns ever play for the club again, I reckon thats what we should do.

Here's some comments from the Fox message board from today...

"IF it is true, then all 8 should be...SACKED!

This is a disgrace IF and I repeat, IF it is true. Can't these overpaid idiots control themselves for more than 10 hours?. It apparently happened the evening they arrived.

If it is true and all culprits are not sacked, I shall return my season ticket. I cannot accept that a single penny of my honesly earnt money goes to these pr1cks!

I am by the way a Leicester fan of some 30 years standing.

I take my 13 yo son to matches, what sort of example does this set?"

"I think a lot of people will be taking an interest in what the club does should the players be charged and convicted - especially now the Dennis Wise case is back in the news.

I really thought a lot of our players would be better than this. Of all the dismal stories that have attached themselves to the club in recent years, this is by far the worst.

I cringed even when I heard about the Newcastle allegations earlier in the season because I hated to see the good name of our sport dragged through the mud again. For it to happen again so soon afterwards and for it to involve my club is simply intolerable.

I think I speak for every single Leicester fan when I say that, should these players by charged, I will have grave difficulty cheering them on between now and the end of the season.

We Leicester fans have been put through an awful lot over the years, but this time they have stretched our faith to breaking point."

"It gets worse the more it sinks in. This is being beamed all around the world. The sight of Matty Elliot handcuffed and lead into a van, left me feeling gutted."

"If it is true (and like someone said earlier I cant see there being smoke without fire) I feel cheated that I have cheered these players on for the past years.

Its not the first time the players have let us down this season...

I am so tempted not to bother renewing my season ticket. Not just because of this but this and everything else put together. It doesnt feel like my club any more. So many different players who I cant relate to. At the moment it just feels like even more of a a curse than normal supporting this team now."

"It sure don't look good, and it might be a classic case of wishful thinking on my part but can anyone REALLY see Matt Elliot, Paul Dickov and Jamie Scowcroft standing witness to a serious assault without lifting a finger to assist the victims, let alone indulging in the activities themselves?

We should cast our minds back to last year when Mattie's sense of injustice overtook him so vehemently that the odious shitebag had to barricade himself in his room to escape the big fellas wrath. And that attack was on a team mate who was (perhaps not at the time) perfectly capable of looking after himself.

No smoke etc etc, but we haven't heard any more of the alledged assault by Newcastle players have we? And that, reportedly, was a more serious affair than we are led to believe happened in Spain.

I don't wish that this should be construed as defence of any of our players eventually proven to have committed such beastly acts. I merely wish to add a sense of perspective to what has been a rather hysterical day, and ask that until we are aquainted with the full facts we take a considered view of reported events and the admittedly dramatic footage from Sky."

"Still can't get my head around this one - how can they have gotten themselves into this situation. Keep the Faith? You gotta be joking after this one Mickey! Whoever is proven to be involved (in any way) should NEVER turn out in the blue shirt again, whoever they are."
