Micky Adams has missed out on the signing of long-term target and highly rated French midfielder Lilian Nalis.

The 30-year-old Bastia midfielder was available on a free transfer, but City were beaten to the player's signature by Italian club Chievo.

Leicester had been tracking the player for over two months and even refused to name him so as not to alert the attention of other clubs. Adams was understandably disappointed but did say there were other transfer options.

He told teamtalk.com,

"It is disappointing because he would have been a good acquisition for us. I have one or two other irons in the fire, although I cannot do very much at the moment until the board give me the go ahead to make a signing".
