Filbo auction (01/05/02)

City fans will get their chance in July to buy their seat, or other parts of Filbert Street.

Season tickets are going to be offered the chance to buy the seats they currently sit in (date tba). And various other bits are to be auctioned off to raise money to bring more kids through the ranks.

The official site announced today that there would be "Unique items up for grabs including turnstiles, furniture, the dugout, signed photographs, paintings, carpets, signed shirts and balls and signage from the 111 year old ground."

There will be more than 400 lots put on sale to the public through the club and professional auctioneers SHM Smith Hodgkinson.

All the money raised will be put into the Academy.

A viewing day will take place on Friday July 26 from 2-8pm with the auction starting from 10am on Saturday July 27.

Catalogues detailing each lot will be available from the auctioneers,SHM Smith Hodgkinson (www.shm.co.uk, tel. auction hotline on 0161 233 2911.)

The souvenir catalogue will cost £2.50 (plus £0.50 p&p). It can be obtained from the auctioneers SHM by sending a cheque for £3.00 to the auctioneers: Leicester City Auction, SHM Smith Hodgkinson, Waldorf House, 5 Cooper Street, Manchester M2 2FW.

Some memorabilia will also be offered via the official site at www.lcfc.com.

Bigger items including the floodlights, scoreboard, heated pitch cover, turnstiles, bulk seating and generators will be sold via public tender and businesses should apply in writing to the club or SHM Smith Hodgkinson.
