  .Pre Season Friendlies 2001

Portsmouth

Official Portsmouth site is at http://www.pompeyfc.co.uk but yes, it's another NTL portal and they're apologising for it not being finished on time.

Unofficial one at http://www.pompeyweb.co.uk/. They have a good guide to local pubs etc here.

Address: Portsmouth Football Club, Frogmore Road, Portsmouth, PO4 8RA

Telephone: Main Office: 023 9273 1204 / 0700 2
Fax: Main Office: 023 9273 4129

Directions:

Fratton Park nestles between rows of housing and an industrial estate, which makes parking a little difficult. If you are coming by car then probably the best place to park would be away from the ground (makes sense, as most of the streets around the ground allow no parking on match days).

By Car

Most of you will probably come to Portsmouth via the M3 and M27. Once on the M27 heading east, you will see the city of Portsmouth spread out below you. Do NOT head for the city centre itself, but continue east until the M27 becomes the A27. Keep going until you come to the Southsea turn-off (A2030). Take this road (Eastern Road), through various sets of traffic lights, until you reach the roundabout at the end of Velder Avenue. Fratton Park should now be straight in front of you. There is some parking available in Rodney Road directly opposite, but it may be advisable to park a little further back up Velder Avenue. There is also a Pay and Display car park in the grounds of St Mary's Hospital in Milton Road, but this fills up fairly early on match days. Limited parking is also available behind the KJC Stand at £5.00 per car.

By Train If you wish to go into the away supporters' end then instead of going into the main entrance of the ground turn right along into Carisbrooke Road and the entrance is for the Milton End.

Tickets:

Tickets are available in advance, priced £10 for adults and £5 concessions. Call the Portsmouth ticket office on 02392 618777 for more details. Kick-off is 3pm. City fans will be in the Carlsberg Stand, which aint got a roof! Take your brollies.

And your sense of humour for when you hear the dreadful out of tune Portsmouth horn player!

Need details on the nearest pubs or maybe you want to share a lift? Make contact with other City fans in the Fans Forum.
