In
a move that's sure to cause upset at the Taylor's holiday
villa, the city boss has pledged to continue negotiations
for new players even though he is abroad on holiday.
Taylor
told the Leicester Mercury, I dont expect anything
to be completed while Im away, but I expect to be on
the phone most days so that we can complete things when I
get back.
I
want to be able to tie a few things up shortly after I return.
When
asked about the recent press speculation linking him with
every player that is available, along with some that aren't,
Taylor explained away just what it is that football reporters
do during the close season.
I
think the more stories that go in the paper about us, the
more people will realise that some reporters will write anything
to fill a space, he said.
Theres
no real truth in most of the stories about us. The problem
is that theres no football during the summer, but writers
still have to fill spaces.
It
doesnt really worry me, but I do find it annoying sometimes
to read that we are about to sign someone we havent
had any contact with.
Taylor
refused to comment on speculation from MidasSoccer that he
will only deal with agents trying to negotiate deals for English
players leaving FFS to speculate that a "Buy British"
policy could just be paper talk.
But
with things going quiet on the transfer front for City at
the moment, the rumours are the only thing keeping us sane.
And although Taylor refused to be drawn on who, when and where
his latest signing would come from, one thing is for sure,
it looks like a signing is just around the corner.
Who
should we sign? Let us now in the Fans
Forum.
