Les Ferdinand (above)

Villa started very brightly forcing 2 corners in the first 2 minutes.

Things didn't look any better as Curtis had to go off within 3 minutes, with what looked like some sort of muscle pull, possibly his hamstring. He was replaced by Impey and Villa continued to pressure us, with Darius Vassell thankfully putting wide.

Only seconds later Hendrie provided another goal chance for Vasselll, and this time the ball ended up in the back of the net in front of the City fans, with Vassell claiming it but it actually coming off Thatcher.

City fans were absolutely aghast a minute later as Villa just ripped us apart again and Juan Pablo Angel made it 2-0. This was an absolute nightmare.

And it got worse. 5 minutes later and a cross by Whittingham saw another goal by Angel into the bottom-left of the goal.

City then stopped leaking goals and slightly came back into it for ten minutes and Dickov managed to have one shot off target after a good Gillespie run and cross.

Micky decided to put Lilian Nalis on for Steve Howey who was struggling (with an injury or just crap?) and change things around a bit. Scimeca dropped back into the backline.

Didn't make much difference as Villa came at us again and City were saved by a great save by Walker.

Things went from bad to worse to totally inexplicable. Ferdinand decided to squabble with Bennett about a throw in. Ferdinand got himself a yellow for dissent which was stupid. But then, unbelievably, Ferdinand went after Bennett again to carry on. And carry on and carry on. Bennett had no choice but to send the stupid idiot off.

What did he think he was doing? A pro like Sir Les? When we're 3 - 0 down? With a £100k susoended sentence hanging over us? FFS. Micky should absolutely slaughter him. City fans were texting us with messages like "I'm a City fan, get me out of here"!

Half time came and what could you say? What would Micky say to them?

Villa managed to get a stupid booking as well 5 minutes into the second half, with Johnsen running off with the ball to delay the game as City won a free kick 10 yards outside the area. The ref gave us an extra 10 yards...which actually made things harder.

Muzzy took a perfect freekick and bent it in to the top right corner of the goal in front of the City fans who finally had something to celebrate. Foxes Never Quit. Another goal and we'd be back in the game!

City looked much better in the second half, dominating despite having only 10 men. So whatever Micky said it worked as usual.

City had a bit of a scare when Angel managed to clear off the line instead of scoring, not quite sure how he managed that. Then City went down the other end and won a freekick almost in the same place as the one Muzzy scored from. This time Villa cleared, and in all the fuss Muzzy went down injured (bang to his head?) and Bennett stopped the game.

City continued to make chances with Dickov laying a nice ball off to Nalis who wellied it, unfortunately straight at the keeper. Dickov then broke through but the ref blew for a foul somewhere.

The rest of the second half was a lot quieter with both teams having some possession of the ball. There were 3 minutes of extra time with Muzzy hobbling about as we'd used all our subs. He had a go at the Villa fans as he came off, leaving City with 9 men, as they were having a go at him saying he was putting it on. Bitter that he rejected a move to them eh?

At least City played with a lot of pride in the second half and showed a lot of spirit. Still desperately need to get some points of that board soon though...
