Mendieta and Ogers practise their synchronised ballet

Ooooooooooh, don't games like this just make you want to stamp your feet in frustration?

City played some good football and spent most of the game camped in Boro's half...but just couldn't get the ball in the back of the net.

City created lots of chances down their end of the park, but didn't make any count and didn't really have that many that could be counted as actual shots, whetheron target or not. Dickov just missed with an overhead kick, Scowy put a header just over, Muzzy had a volley turned overthe bar and Ogers had a good shot go inches wide.

Like most games Dickov appealed in vain for a penalty in the 24th minute and City were lucky a couple of times when Boro showed how rubbish they were at shooting, Nemeth slicing a shot high and wide.

Juninho did bugger all and everyone forgot he was playing, but the not yet fit Mendieta took quite a part in the game and could be a good signing for them.

Ogers managed to pick up a black eye in an accidental clash with Mendieta but in tank mode got up and carried on...when bleeding referee Grant Barber eventually let him back on...after Boro had gone the length of the pitch. City fans made it clear what we thought of Barber.

Thatcher had an excellent game at the back again, Muzzy Izzet showed Boro what they'd missed out on being everywhere in midfield, Gillespie made some nice runs down the wing, Ogers tackled like he'd suddenly learnt how to do a new trick and liked it, and Nalis sprayed a few lovely balls around. Walker wasn't ever stretched and City certainly should have won the game. Corky needs to get them on more shooting practice.

More good signs but we really need to start picking up some points...
