Scimeca's injury gave the out of favour Sinclair a chance to have a game for City. Fans were a bit confused to see Freund on the bench though. If anyone has shown grit and determination since signing it's him. And good old Scowy back in the tarting line up...so he could miss some more sitters no doubt. Thankfully Sir Les was also back.

The game was not pretty. The tension was clear straight from the off in this relegation battle, and tempers frayed early on, with billy McKinlay picking up a needless yellow card along with Amoruso, and pretty much losing the plot from there on in.

City hadn't given up the ghost though and managed to keep a lot of the possession...but despite having 4 up front to all intents and purposes, couldn't do anything with it.

Blackburn forced a great save from Walker after 8 minutes, as defender Gresko saw his free-kick deflected. Other than that Stead caused a few problems and looks a useful young player.

Despite last week's game, City had not learnt their lessons and yet again saw constant pressure as we were run at down the wings. Cole took off just before half time and ran down the right, squaring the ball into the box. Dabizas, who'd already made a few mistakes and was not looking at his best, slid in and managed to stab tyhe ball past Walker into our net.

Billy McKinlay was still rattled and managed to stay on the pitch only because the ref showed common sense and gave him a good talking to rather than a second yellow card. Adams saw that he wasa liability thoughand replaced him at half time with Freund.

Blackburn started to control the mnidfield in the second half despite Muzzy trying his hardest, and they produced a few chances.

Adams replaced Billy McKinlay with Steffen Freund at the break, but it was the Rovers midfield which belatedly settled into a passing game which had deserted them during the opening 45 minutes.

Scowy tried an overhead kick (yes, Scowy!) but it was blocked by Amoruso, who was also lucky to stay on after a potential second yellow too.

Sir Les limped off after giving as much as he could.

It was all Blackburn at the end and a good block from Thatcher and a save from Walker kept the scoreline respectable.
