Announcement delayed (14/10/02)

City fans expecting to go into administration today can heave a sigh of relief...for a few days probably.

The club are still busy beavering away trying to do deals to prevent it from happening, and no statement is expected now for a while.

One member of staff down at the club today said that the Americans had been in all week as the club tries to renegotiate the finance package with creditors.

The club also has a further meeting with the PFA later this week to see if anything further can be agreed with the players.

Even if creditors are sympathetic, the club still need the wage bill cut drastically to cover the £3m shortfall this season (equivalent to 20% of the wage bill) thanks to the the tv money fiasco.
