Leicester's poor run continued with a 4-2 defeat at Stoke.
Leicester took an early lead with a goal from Kenton (with help from
the ref), but defensive mistakes allowed Stoke to equalise, then take
the lead from the penalty spot. Leicester equalised with an Elvis
Hammond goal, and looked the more likely team to win the game until yet
more defensive mistakes gifted Stoke two more goals.
Rob
Kelly's post match interview included all his usual cliches - the
players are honest, can't fault their effort, we are where we are etc -
you've heard them all before. Gerry Taggart said
Leicester's defending was diabolical, the players are making too many
individual mistakes and a lot of people are not performing for the
club. He also said he'd be willing to help with coaching - if Rob Kelly
asks him. Leicester are still seven points clear of the
relegation places - and could already have enough points to stay up.
But if the team continues to play this badly it's difficult to know
where the next points will come from, and we could still be dragged
into a relegation battle. Expect to hear 'Kelly Out' chants at the Derby game on Friday unless the performance improves dramatically. Click here to discuss this match on our forum
